Clients generally admire my ability to improve copy on-the-go, suggesting alternative paraphrasing to make copy flow smoother and increase comprehension.
As a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, complex subjects do not intimidate me. On the contrary, I excel in quickly analyzing technically complex copy, assessing which words to emphasize.
To me, the challenge is to make sure anyone hearing my voice understands what I'm saying. So I have to make sure I understand first during preparation...
If I see a problem, I not only flag it, but also come up with a viable alternative that respects the original copy. This apparently is the primary reason clients come back. Again and again.

I spent my childhood in Western Africa growing up in a Dutch household among English-speaking people from all across the globe. Being blessed with absolute hearing, from a very young age I was able to copy any accent I heard within minutes.
After moving back to The Netherlands I studied Mechanical Engineering, while doing occasional voiceover jobs to sustain myself. After obtaining my Masters of Science degree I decided to delay a career in engineering to pursue my lifelong dream: working as a professional voiceover full-time. After a year I became so successful at it there was no turning back, and I soon set a record that I still hold today: being the most-heard commercial Voiceover in the Dutch language ever.
(At the height of my career, a commercialblock of 6 commercials on the most popular national radiostation was documented as being practically exclusively voiced by me: 5 out of the 6 had my voice in it).
After the 2009 crisis hit hard in The Netherlands however, Dutch voiceover work practically dried up for a period of two years, at which point I decided to expand my field by actively pursuing English-speaking voiceover work in general, and my impersonation of Morgan Freeman in particular.
One of my first 'Morgan' jobs was to record a placeholder for Morgan's voice for VISA.
An employee presentation describing the new mission statement to be viewed simultaneously by all employees worldwide. After recording the first page, Morgan allegedly heard my placeholder and was amazed at how good it sounded...
He got up and left the studio, claiming he didn't see the point in re-recording something which allready sounded exactly like him...
The final video consisted of an introduction by Morgan himself, followed by me picking up the presentation where he left off. And apparently no-one ever even noticed the transition.
My voice can best be characterized as 'extremely flexible'.
It's not limited to any 'accent' or even language..
I'm a fluent speaker in 4: English, Dutch, German and French.
And I have recorded voiceover professionally in all 4. This is extremely handy when dealing with French or German customers on English-speaking jobs. They love being able to convey their thoughts in their own language, even if it pertains to an English text.
