Pastry Chef in training by day and voice talent all day.
Prior to my training as a pastry chef, I was in Acting school which really motivated me to try out voice acting. My first voice acting job was back home, in Singapore, for a government board's radio project on sex education. I was scouted through my previous acting stint for the same government board on the same topic. I was encouraged by my director to consider voice acting as he said I took directions well and that I had potential.
I find voice acting a different challenge from regular acting in that your voice is the only tool in use to communicate the emotions and to convey messages. A expressive and "communicative" voice is a gift.
I studied in Lasalle, College of the arts, Singapore, doing performing arts for one year. Back when I was in secondary school, I was also involved in the English Literary Drama and Debate Society. The cast and I represented the school to compete in the Singapore Youth Festival Drama Category and clinched a gold. It was then that I found my passion for performing, which in turn drove me to take on the performing arts programme in Lasalle.
