Originally from Chicago, Bob Dochterman has spent his professional life in San Francisco Bay Area as voice talent and broadcaster. Even as a kid, voice work was a passion. Armed with a mini reel-to-reel and a Radio Shack mic, Bob cranked out dramas, commercials & imaging for anyone who would listen. He was always on the lookout for production upgrades. One day he stuck his mic and head into the family's empty washing machine basin and a fantastic new echo effect was born! Sadly the echo chamber was off limits on laundry day. Such were the pitfalls of the amateur producer. ​Despite those early challenges, Bob’s voice-over efforts proved successful and he’s had the pleasure of collaborating with noted clients including Apple, Men's Wearhouse, Toyota, CBS Radio, AT&T, The State of California and many more. According to Bob, “If you are naturally inclined to spend lots of time talking to yourself in a small padded room, creating highly effective voice performances is undoubtedly your best option!” Early on, Bob’s experience was broadened by fate, circumstance & dumb luck to include radio air talent, production, management, engineering, tower work and even a stint as a radio station owner in California's Central Valley. When Bob was given the opportunity to create the radio broadcasting program at Ohlone College in Fremont, it was a challenge he couldn't turn down. As Director of Radio Operations, he was teacher, manager, chief engineer and any other job that needed doing. The program's broadcast facility, flame-throwing KOHL FM, became a legacy Bay Area hit radio station. Bob relished the opportunity to bring in top tier Bay Area talent to serve as adjunct instructors: "It provided real-world inspiration for our students and was a sneaky way for me to get to work with many of my broadcasting idols as well!" Upon leaving Ohlone to pursue voice-over full time, Bob remarked, "Especially rewarding for me has been the opportunity to work directly with talented, driven students and the wonderful teaching staff that guides and inspires them. The gratification of hearing our former students plying their trade at commercial stations, many right here in the Bay Area, is beyond compare. It has been my honor to devote 100% of my energy to their success." Today Bob turns that level of dedication to his clients: "Each project is a fresh opportunity for creativity.
