As a photojournalist one of the best skills I learned is adaptability. In the world of news things can change in a heartbeat, and you have to be able to change and work with that, and still produce exceptional material.
While some events are unpredictable and require that adaptability, there are also certain events that you cover year after year when working for a news outlet, and you have to be willing to approach those events with fresh eyes each time.
These two skills lend themselves very well to VO work, because you need to be adaptable to each situation and each client and their particular needs, but you also need to be able to provide a fresh perspective and breathe life into each script to really draw listeners in.
I pride myself on being a consummate professional who provides quality work. I'm very easy to get along with and take direction easily. My goal is to make sure the client is thrilled with the final product.
