The reason I've decided to enter the field of voice over talents is because I've always been told that I have a great voice and that I should do commercials.
I've had years of technical and customer support experience handling service issues and dealing with clients for high priority companies as well as residential customers and I am accustomed to adjusting my voice and verbal demeanor to meet the needs and expectations of both. This requires confidence, empathy, definite voice talent (and yes acting). You have to maintain a cheerful, professional sounding voice no matter what type of situation or person you are dealing with and no matter what your emotional reaction is to the situation or person.
During my years in the telecommunications field,I've done business presentations at staff meetings and more currently, online staff orientation and training.
Internal as well as external clients have always commended me on my pleasant, helpful, professional tone of service,
Most recently, I auditioned for and was chosen to do marketing voicemails for a real estate company.
I worked many years in the telecommunication field in positions that required excellent phone and voice demeanor.
I’ve had the opportunity to take courses in Active Communicating: Professional Presence & Creativity which utilized training methods that included theatrical voice exercises and stressed emotional projection through voice as well as body language.
Also, I attended classes on Mastering Meetings which emphasized the use of voice as well as body language to guide meetings to be productive.
In addition, training for my client service positions put emphasis on using voice inflection to make script reading sound friendly and natural in order to solicit the sale and up sale of products and services.
