Every script begins with a purpose.
Sometimes, the goal is to earn trust. Other times, it's to teach, inspire, reassure, persuade, or share a compelling story. Whether it's a 15-second ad, a corporate training, a healthcare explainer, or a documentary narration, each script aims to connect one person with another.

Before I think about pacing, tone, or delivery, I need to understand the script's purpose, its intended audience, and what it asks them to think, feel, or do. Because when those questions come first, the performance doesn't feel performed.

I didn't discover this philosophy when I became a voice actor. I discovered it long before I ever stepped behind a microphone.
