My friends call me CJ. When I was a kid, my dad would read to my siblings and I from this big book of old Grimm tales. When he would do the voices, overstating and emphasizing the characters, and really get into these stories to put us to sleep. That was the moment I realized how effective narration and passionate story telling could sway a person so absolutely. I started doing theater in high school looking for that outlet, and wound up in Forensics. Continuing on in theater, but falling further into Forensics for the competition setting. I won several awards, and traveled to Nationals in the NFL and CFL tournaments held across the country. I also started singing, as I turned out to be rather proficient at sheet music and it helped get me better parts for shows. At college, I continued on in theater, competing in the KCACTF, accruing Irene Ryan nominations, and would intern at an Opera company in Wichita called Century II. I also got my first radio job outside of school, where I was asked to be the voice of "Maximum Realty.com" for a local real-estate agent. After school, I joined the work force, did some local theater, and its been a little over half a decade since the last time I was on stage or performed for anyone, short of the 3 campaigns I run for D&D for an assortment of friends. I see voice acting, and narrating as a means to be able to stretch my vocal muscles while simultaneously getting my voice out there for people to utilize. Thank you for your consideration.
