Started on the stage back in the 60's, until the need for a career with a regular salary tore me away. However, much of my work involved auditorium presentations. Towards the end of my formal career now I work on a passenger ship where I am the PA voice making all safety announcements - in English and French - and all promotionals and commercials for on-board services and sales initiatives. These have to be pitched just right for the desired market to maximize customer uptake, and are frequently unscripted.
Yup. No other form of voice over yet, but there's a fist time for everyone: I offer maturity, reliability, a lifetime of microphone experience...and a new voice to the profession.
English public school, then college. Stage work in North London's Intimate Theatre and Joan Littlewood's Theatre Royal, Stratford East. Enfield Youth theatre. Drama festivals. Corporate public speaking at national and international conferences and conventions. Training presentations.
all of my career has been face to face with the public so I have developed the skill of judging the right approach and tone of voice to adopt.
