I started my voice over journey in 2009 under the guidance of two great teachers, Linda Weaver and Nina Pratt of the Pratt-Weaver Voice-Over Institute in New York. With their help I honed my skills and created my first commercial demo reel that Summer! I have since narrated a book trailer for the book 'How Music Works' published by Little Brown Publishing, I booked an on-camera and VO spot for 'The Right Conversation' an online commercial for Merck Pharmaceuticals and I narrated 'A closer look at Leonardo’s Fingerprint' which was produced by Art Access & Research for the “And There Was Light” exhibition which opened in Gothenburg, Sweden on the 20th of March. As an artist in Brooklyn, I have collaborated with video artists on and off screen and lent my voice to their productions.
I earned a B.A. from Bennington College in Visual Art, Music and Performance in 2004 and I am currently involved in all 3 of those areas and live in Brooklyn. I have performed in 3 bands over the last 5 years as a singer, instrumentalist and writer and I am currently working on a solo music project. Brooklyn is a great place to live because I have met so many great artists that I have been able to collaborate as an actor and writer in comedy and video projects alike. I have taken two voice over courses at the Pratt-Weaver Voice-Over Institute and I was able to find my own voice!
I have a beta 57 mic and protools in my home studio. I also have access to a VO recording studio equipped with an Akg c93 and Neuman TLK 103.
I am active in Tai Chi and I am learning meditation, both of which are important for breathing. I have 3 1/2 years of experience teaching digital arts to kids in the New York Public School System which has taught me how to really throw my voice across a room! I have gotten in front of the classroom to teach kids anywhere from 5th to 12th grade as well as teachers and professionals.
