I find the mind set and message behind the voice, and then work the characterization to get the most out of the copy. I pick up accents very quickly and can work in nearly any accent with a little lead time. Professionally, I have done many Southern variations, Northeast, Midwestern and Northwestern US dialects as well as British and European variations. As an actress and VO professional, I have the capability of a broad spectrum of ages, from a crying baby to an ancient oracle. I can switch into different voices within the same track, portraying different characters within the same narrative . . . or the same commercial track. The most important point is to get the message across in a way that stays with the listener. That means making choices that are fresh. We make those choices together.

I have worked in a major New York Radio Station/Network (WOR), corporate and industrial facilities, a wide variety of recording studios, in front of live audiences with live SFX, simultaneously with a large group of other VO pros in large productions, with cartoon dubbing and in makeshift home studios-- when it comes right down to it, it's just me and mic. I take direction to heart and have the ability to get the copy down quickly and with the results the client wants. As the only female announcer at WOR, I recorded my own spots, for everything from laxatives to promos for concerts, making he copy work. Every day. I have done work for medical, technical and financial institutions, including the NASA Space program-- and learned you don't have to understand the polysyllabic jargon and technical intricacies to be sincere, authoritative and believable. I have portrayed all age ranges, many cultural and regional dialects and fantasy characterizations (the Sea Turtle Princess for a series of Japanese videos). It's all part of the job. I do it until its right. I make it yours. I understand the value of studio time. I'm on time and I don't need too much more than a bottle of water and some copy. I really, truly love what I do. And do what it takes so that you love it, too. I am a New York-trained actress, with 20+ years of theatrical, film, television and audio experience. I am in the top 5% of Americans in English usage, with a background in tutoring grad students in English. I have a background in professional and creative writing, from business to fiction writing. I have training and experience in film and audio production. I work with a local studio with a full music and sound effects library, Pro Tools editing and an engineer who plays 14 different instruments and has perfect pitch. He can do anything. I am a jackass of all trades, with an extensive knowledge about the lore and history of New York City. My best friend is my sense of humor. I never met a mic I didn't like.
