I have worked
in a major New York Radio Station/Network (WOR),
corporate and industrial facilities,
a wide variety of recording studios,
in front of live audiences with live SFX,
simultaneously with a large group of other VO pros in large productions,
with cartoon dubbing and
in makeshift home studios--
when it comes right down to it, it's just me and mic.
I take direction to heart and have the ability to get the copy down quickly and with the results the client wants.
As the only female announcer at WOR, I recorded my own spots, for everything from laxatives to promos for concerts, making he copy work. Every day.
I have done work for medical, technical and financial institutions, including the NASA Space program-- and learned you don't have to understand the polysyllabic jargon and technical intricacies to be sincere, authoritative and believable.
I have portrayed all age ranges, many cultural and regional dialects and fantasy characterizations (the Sea Turtle Princess for a series of Japanese videos). It's all part of the job.
I do it until its right. I make it yours. I understand the value of studio time. I'm on time and I don't need too much more than a bottle of water and some copy.
I really, truly love what I do. And do what it takes so that you love it, too.
