About Alvin

  • Member sinceDec 20, 2010
  • LocationAugusta, GA, USA (GMT -4)
My voice is naturally warm and smooth, perfect for narration or audio books. I am also able to deliver crisp professional intonation as well for presentations. I have an amazing reserve of depth and power for dramatic characterizations. Often cast as a villain, I am a strong bass/baritone singer with a vocal range of over two octaves.

I have been interested in doing vocal work from a very young age. As a child I would imitate the DJs on the local radio stations. I read comic books and stories into my tape recorder and would play them back for others. I participated in chorus and theater in school and later at my church. Eventually, I moved on to the Augusta Players where I was noticed during an audition and went on to begin doing commercials. I routinely to hear "you've got a radio voice" from people I'm introduced to. I've done a number of promotional spots for Carley's Rays of Hope, a local charity, and for my church. I often narrate live productions at church. I have sung with the Augusta Broadway Singers as both a member of the ensemble, and as a soloist. I have been privileged since 2019 to sing our national anthem at numerous Augusta Greenjackets baseball games. I have an Associates Degree in Computer Programming and experience in data management and ad hoc report creation. I have been performing in choirs, praise teams, ensembles, musicals, and plays since 5th grade. I have a Blue Yeti microphone and "The Pop" filter running into a Lenovo laptop with Audacity software. I am currently employed full time as a Systems Manager for Morris Communications. However, my schedule and available time off allow me a good deal of flexibility. I possess significant computer knowledge including database management, reporting, Excel, and some hardware and troubleshooting skill. I am well read, have a very dry wit and am known for being able to turn a phrase just so. I tend towards perfectionism and have a strong work ethic.
