While my experience doing voice acting professionally is limited, I have been involved in some local (sadly unreleased) abridged series projects. I've also done voice work for a few radio commercials. I am a very comedic person and love doing impressions, to the point that I've been told they're sometimes indistinguishable from the original voice actor.
As a professional audio engineer, I have a vast array of audio equipment at my disposal. From high-end condenser & ribbon microphones to the industry standard Shure SM7B, but I also have plenty of great outboard equipment. Most importantly, my recording and mixing space are very well acoustically treated, so my recordings sound great and don't need much post-processing.
