My voice training started at a young age when my mother and father would constantly tell me to "KEEP YOUR VOICE DOWN". OK.. But this sentiment was later echoed by my teachers in school - pick any grade it doesn't matter! They all made that comment, Apparnelty my parents and teachers did not appreciate the talent I had, but I learned it was something I needed to respect and use. In prep school, Several students were selected to write and record for the local AM radio station our thoguhts on different topics, mine was on what "love" means and my recording was very well received! OK so maybe there was something to this after all and voice talent was for me. On to college and after a 15 minute audition I won a spot on prime time on the WLRN AM Station as a DJ at Lehigh University. For three years I had my own "Oldies show" and it was here I also did my own engineering, news sports and weather. My dream was to become a TV weather man but other life directions intervened. Some years later after I had written an editorial reply to a TV station in New England, I was invited to record my reply at the TV station. While taping the editorial reply I was offered on the spot the job as the weekend anchor for the TV station. As fate would have it, I was committed to another direction once again and full time broadcasting was put on hold. In the years since, I have recorded PSA's for hospitals, led internet broadcasts and learned the arts of internet broadcasts in both AV and video basics and I have assisted remote broadcasting sites in the setup and testing of remote broadcasts using real-time streaming and live content. But the "dream" is still alive! Weather I ever get that opportunity to do a live weather broadcast only God knows, but I am throwing my hat back in the ring to use the talent I have been given. (a supportive wife makes all the difference! She also has top notch voice talent and who knows, maybe a husband/wife team is what you seek)
