Nicola – or Nicky, as her friends and collaborators call her – is a British voice artist with a BBC-shaped backbone and a warm, velvety alto voice that’s been described as elegant, sophisticated, and irresistibly approachable. Often likened to Emma Thompson, Helen Mirren, or even Julie Andrews, she’s the kind of voice that makes you lean in – whether she’s narrating a documentary, voicing a heartfelt charity campaign, or delivering complex medical e-learning with clarity and care.
With a warm, sophisticated alto voice and a cheeky touch of British humour, Nicky is a seasoned voice artist who brings clarity, charm, and credibility to every read. After a long career in BBC studios – both on-air and behind the scenes – she now works from her home studio just outside London, collaborating with creatives around the world, from Australia to Indonesia, the US to Switzerland.
She specialises in medical narration, eLearning, charity campaigns, documentaries, and audio guides – anything that teaches, inspires, or tells a great story. Her clients include BBC Radio, Cancer Research UK, Red Cross, Nestlé, Salesforce, RNIB, World Vision, and more.
