About Tom
Member sinceApr 6, 2011
I am a Midwestern baritone(I grew up in K.C.MO) with Southern highlights(I have lived in Savannah,GA for 40 years). I can go lower than baritone but am not a full bass. Warm and deep for narrations would be within my expertise; however, as a classroom teacher, an experienced speaker, and a real estate and insurance trainer, smooth and professional would be my most powerful niche. I feel my sense of humor would come out in a voice over that required personality and character.

Experience, training, and equipment
Over the years I have done several local commercials.I never considered a voice over career until an employee at Meddin Studios in Savannah asked, after hearing me talk, if I did voice over work. That got me thinking about the numerous students over the years that complemented me on my voice. I do have a commercial that I did the voice over on for a shoe store running now in Savannah. I feel I should note that the commercial is a personal endorsement as a triathlete and a runner and the voice over is a by product. I also have a copy of a voice over for a real estate school that ran in 2009. Therefore,I would list myself as "An exciting new talent".
I have a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Central Missouri. I taught school in Sydney, Australia and Savannah, Georgia.
I am a state approved instructor in both Real Estate Education and Insurance Studies. I am an experience speaker and have led a number of seminars. I have no formal training in voice over work. I have a varied life experience. I'm intelligent and I can read. If you like the sound of my voice, I would appreciate the chance to show what I can do.
I am new to this. I do not have my own studio. I am well net worked in Savannah, Georgia and have access to any equipment that would be required. Although I have no lnowledge about audio engineering, I can assure you that I have access to what ever is available in this area. I can provide recordings from home in an MP3 format.
My wife and I have been married for 42 years. We have two beauitful daughters and two outstanding sons-in-laws. My wife has been disabled for over 10 years. I am in excellent physical shape and compete in triathlons. I took up physical fitness late in life to lose 50 pounds and get off high blood pressure medication. I would naturally bind with projects having to do with disability and physical fitness. Because of my volunteer activities and committment to my community I have been chosen, twice, to run the Olympic Torch. I have been a school teacher, home builder, real estate broker and insurance broker. As a result of my varied careers and interests, I relate well to people from all walks of life. I would love to have the opportunity to show what I can do and learn more about the voice over business.
