I am professionally trained in a variety of voice and theater settings. I have studied with David Goldberg of Edge Studio and Susan Berkley of the Great Voice Company. I have studied with Seattle voice-over artist Gin Hammond for two quarter-long classes and been trained in studio work by her. I have played many parts in a standard American accent as well as in specialized accents such as British, German, Southern American, and Canadian. Performed variety of voices in Librivox productions including Cousin Sid in dramatic reading of Tom Sawyer. Played lead male role of Father Flynn in John Patrick Shanley's Doubt, Joe in Arthur Miller's All My Sons, Narrator in The Freud/Jung Letters, Dr. Menard Boss in Heidegger. I have studied Voice Over and Theater at Freehold Productions in Seattle. I am currently participating in an advanced voice over class at Freehold. I have been involved in theater productions as an actor off and on throughout my life. I have developed my voice skills in years of making presentations in workshop settings as well in being a classroom teacher. I have an M.A. from Johns Hopkins and a B.A. from the University of Washington. I am an excellent communicator. I was a journalist with the Economist magazine and have made dozens of presentations in workshop presentations. I have created my own home studio using Auralex Studiofoam as well as Singer sound barriers resulting in a perfect space for voice recording. I use a Marshall MXL 2003A condenser microphone with a vented pop filter. For an audio interface I use the excellent RME Babyface. Rounding out my studio I have a Euro Boom telescoping mic stand and Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones. I use Twisted Wave audio editing software and sometimes Reaper audio editing software. I am well-educated, well-traveled, and knowledgable about the world. I have a great sense of humor, but also a serious sense of purpose about my work. I will provide my clients my expertise and diligence to produce excellent results.
