I've been in radio nearly thirty years and my experience ranges from commercial radio music announcing, news and advertising to public radio announcing of all types of music and narration of promotional materials, news stories, interviews and documentaries. I've also conducted interviews and reported news stories on video for cable and public TV.
Since childhood, growing up in the rich Detroit/Windsor market I was always a radio buff and as a teenager I made friends with the Detroit disc jockeys I loved to listen to. I knew I wanted a career in radio so after graduating from high school, I attended Specs Howard School for Broadcast Arts in Detroit and worked as an intern at several . At nineteen I began working in commercial radio and attended college, studying voice work, broadcasting and media, mass communications, journalism, and the performing arts. At that time I got internships at public radio and learned about completely new styles of announcing and narration. I have continued to host radio shows, voice promos and news stories, narrate video, etc. for the last several decades.
I travel a lot and have encountered many different accents and dialects which I enjoy studying and mimicking, and have learned the rudiments of several other languages such as Spanish [semi-fluent], Dutch, German and Polish. In addition, I'm very educated about all types of music and knowledge of the world in general.
