My present corporate job involves recording of training modules for legal staff. In addition, I have some recent experience co-hosting a weekly Internet radio show in the comedy-talk genre. As a standup comic, I have recorded promotional spots for a local FM all-comedy radio station. Although my voice over career is relatively new, I've gotten consistently positive reactions to my recorded products. I have dabbled in voice lessons for the purpose of improving my range and clarity as a standup comic. Most of my training has been onstage, both as a comic and hosting comedy shows, as well as on the air with my own Internet radio show and some promo recordings for a local comedy station. I also regularly develop recorded modules in the course of my job as a corporate trainer, and the feedback of consistently reviewing and refining my own recorded style provides an ongoing source of training as well. I have a proven ability to write/edit copy and inject humor into a presentation as appropriate, making otherwise dry and boring material enjoyable and therefore better retained. From doing standup, I've developed the ability to edit for timing by eliminating extraneous words and keeping only content that's vital to the meaning of your piece.
