About Stephen
With 20 years of character experience, I can switch from guy next door, to radio announcer guy, to soothing smooth-jazz guy, and sprinkle in many animation type voices and oddities, all within one take, perfect for audiobooks. For narration, I sound authoritative but nurturing. Commercials bring out both my everyman voice, as well as various characters. For dry reads such as phone banks or textbooks, my knowledge of storytelling and stage presentation allows me to hit the correct beat to keep the pace interesting, and the subject matter informative.

- Experience, training, and equipmentWith nearly 20 years as a professional standup comedian, overlapping 10 years as an on-air radio personality, the past ten years as a voice actor, and a year of classes & workshops at The Radio Ranch in Hollywood, I have a lifetime of earning a living with my pipes. Though my travel schedule with my comedy career has kept me from pursuing voice acting as diligently as I would like - providing for my wife & kids and paying the mortgage must be priority #1 - I still doggedly chase the industry as much as possible. I've been called a "One take wonder" by past directors, and have been told I am excellent at taking direction in the booth. A year of classes & workshops at The Radio Ranch in Hollywood. Again, standup comedy for two decades, with a decade of radio preceding/overlapping it. For auditions only, I have a stereo Snowball USB mic and Garage Band. I'm an actor, not an engineer, and I don't pretend otherwise. I impersonate comedian Joey Bishop in a Rat Pack tribute show; perfect if you have a big band/swing/Sinatra type spot or event.
