About Otrie
Many people have said I have the CNN voice when they hear me speak, kind of like James Earl Jones, meets Morgan Freeman, meets Michael Dorn (Worf from Star Trek), meets Dennis Haysbert (the Allstate guy), meets Lawrence Fishburne (Morpheus from Matrix), meets the incredible Sam Elliot, meets former "President of the United States", Barack Obama, meets Uncle Phil!
My voice is smooth for documentary narration or a soft and sensual like Billy D Williams. It has been commented that I have a voice with no regional accents, but I love doing a variety of American accents. I'm always up for adding another characteristic to expand my voice palette.
My voice-over narration has helped world-class corporations produce training media, and sell products/services through commercial radio and television. - Experience, training, and equipmentI was first approached for voice-over work when a media professor from Ngee Ann Poly Tech in Singapore overheard me do a James Earl Jones imitation. He asked me if I could voice a project gratis, and I complied. The week after the Ngee Ann Poly Tech project, I received offers from HBO, ESPN, and McDonald's to do steady work for them. Shortly thereafter I began to work for the Disney and the Discovery Channel as well. My first voice-overs were recorded to beta and went to air within an hour. I am very appreciative to all of those producers and engineers that walked me through the vo process. Their encouragement, patience, and expertise remain with me to this very day.
