- Experience, training, and equipmentI have consistently been in the top ten voice-over actors in New Zealand since 1987. I have recorded thousands of commercials from the most intimate soft sell to hard sell retail, and have always impressed clients with my versatility and ability to nail the job quickly. I have worked with all the top ad agencies, both here and in Australia via ISDN, and have recorded at the Howard Schwartz, and Electric Lady Studios in New York. I have twice voiced the entire prompt system for our biggest Telecom company and recently updated it, as well as smaller directory systems. I enjoy recording documentaries and have worked with, television and independent producers, and NHK Japan. I have voiced promotional and training videos, and trailers. Recording for blind people, I have read over two hundred complete books, ranging from history, to manuals, to novels, and have recorded commercial adaptations for radio and 'talking books'. I enjoy being efficient, and my long and varied experience has taught me how to quickly find the core of a script Trained as a radio announcer. Moved on to be a professional actor on stage, films, television and radio. Since the late eighties I have been more concentrated on my voice work but have retained my career as an actor, especially stage. I graduated BA in politics and BA(Hons) in History, and continue my love of research in the archives for a historian in Wellington. My hobby is the history of sound recording. I work in my home studio on a RODE Podcaster microphone with integrated A/D that links to my MacBook and produces a high quality recording for auditions. I have an arrangement with a nearby professional recording studio that can produce anything required to the highest broadcast quality, including ISDN. I can deliver broadcast quality voice recordings from either source. As a professional actor I have to be broadminded, humorous, and ready to embrace concepts that are sometimes very unusual. I bring the love of these challenges to my voice work, and am confident that i will rise to any occasion. My long experience has provided me with the technical skills I need to produce a top quality sound for a wide variety of scripts.
