I am currently a classical music host for WVIA Public Media, an NPR affiliate in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
I produce a live daily classical program, have voiced classical and contemporary concerts, and have performed narrations with regional orchestras and ensembles. I have also voiced numerous local public television documentaries.
At WVIA, I also produce a television documentary series which I host live-- four times a year. I am a vocalist (mezzo soprano) who has sung with regional opera companies, ensembles, choruses, and choirs. As a teenager, I sang with Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians as part of a vocal scholarship I received.
Over the years I have voiced answering systems for small and non profit businesses, as well as Cove Haven Resort in Pennsylvania.
I have a BA in Communication Arts from Marywood University, Scranton.
For over a decade, I've taught undergraduate public speaking courses, as well as classical music enrichment courses for senior learners.
I was also an adjunct at the University of Scranton for two years teaching a public speaking course. I currently teach an effective speech class at Lackawanna College, and moderate symposiums on health or the arts.
I have written articles and arts reviews for numerous newspapers and magazines-- including The Scranton Times, Harrisburg Patriot, The Citizens' Voice, Tempo Magazine, and Catholic Golden Age Magazine.
I have done stage work-- mostly musicals and showcases, and am a minister of music at my church.
I have a small set up in my basement, use a Sennheiser microphone, have a small mixer, and work with Cool Edit and Adobe programs.
Because my set up is modest, I am working on building up a music library.
For narration and dry audio, however, the equipment works beautifully.
I am very particular about any product I am asked to produce. I work well on deadline, and strive to give my very best with every project I tackle.
Ideally, I would not present work to a potential client if it did not meet a standard of excellence.
I do enjoy a challenge, and welcome opportunities that would stretch my potential even further.
