Accents: Scottish, Irish, North American, Mid-Atlantic. English: classic BBC, Yorkshire, Lancashire, London and more. I can also do French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian accents in English - natural or caricature, as required. I speak good French and Spanish and COULD do voiceovers in either - BUT obviously with a British or American accent. I am NOT a native speaker of these languages.

'Discovered' as a VO while playing Stanley in 'Streetcar Named Desire' onstage. Over the past 25 years or so I've done corporate/ documentary jobs on a daily basis, promos for CNN International, radio and TV ads for Carlsberg, Fedex, KPMG, Sheraton and more. I've read stories on BBC radio, narrated audio books, and recorded TV spots in the US. I have also voiced video games for clients in L.A. Studied English French and Spanish to University level in Scotland. Was TEFL teacher in Spain, UK and Belgium, and later managed language schools in UK and Belgium. Years of theatre experience plus some film work. Voiceovers, live and on-camera presentations at conferences. I have also written speeches for business clients and trained them in presentation skills. I have my own basic studio with Wavepad software, AKG 1000S mic, Tascam audio interface, so I can produce clean, edited voice recordings on demand. For anything more sophisticated I have easy access to excellent pro studios nearby, all equipped to the latest standards. Natural sight reader, even of highly technical texts. Creative writer (2 books published to date), translator, copywriter, and speechwriter. Used to last minute 'tweaking' of texts in studio. Best comment from a client: 'John, if you didn't exist we'd have to invent you!' (just saying ;)
