- Experience, training, and equipmentMore than 30 years as a working VO performer with experience as script and copywriter. My studio is fully equipped: A custom upgraded Lenovo H50 desktop computer with solid state hard drive is the digital nerve center, if you will. Along with the production software, the Lenovo is loaded with a wide assortment of video and audio effects plug-ins; Windows 10 is the operating system. A Behringer Xenyx Q802 audio mixer is also the analog-to-digital converter and has proven to be quite the little work horse in my broadcast quality personal studio. The Behringer includes a super quiet 48v phantom power supply mic preamp. THE MICROPHONE LOCKER is stocked with an Audio Technica AT-2020 (USB studio condensor mic), Audio Technica ATR2100 (USB/XLR stick mic), CAD Audio GXL2200, Electro-Voice 635A (classic stick mic), MXL 990 (secondary mic), MXL V67G, MXL R144 (ribbon), Rode NT-1 (primary mic), Rode NTG1 condenser shotgun, Sterling Audio ST51 and a few other goodies. OUTBOARD ANALOG GEAR (partial list): Aphex Model 303 Aural Exciter, Fostex model 3070 Compressor/Limiter, JVC TD- W354 Cassette deck, Otari DTR-8S DAT Recorder, Otari MTR-10 Reel-to-reel, Tascam 32 Reel-to-reel, Teac X-1000R Reel-to- reel, Technics SP-15 turntable and a variety of styli to accommodate audio restoration from 33 1/3, 45 and 78 RPM discs, including 16” radio transcription discs.
