The first time I spoke loud enough for other people to hear me was at my grandmother's funeral. My father was supposed to speak on her memory but was too emotional. So my mother made me do it...on the spot. Since then, I've done speeches at church functions, readings for elderly bible studies, two of my own graduation speeches, hosted 3 annual high school talent shows and last but most important, several narrations of my children's favorite novels. For they are my most critical audience: )
I took a public speaking course my freshman year at Indiana University in addititon to a communications course second semester of that year. I am currently a English major so I've taken literature as well as grammar courses.
I love to read. I grew up reading. So narrating audiobooks is what interested me in voice over services.
