I record short form descriptive narration for design firms, describing the details of the craftsmanship, and I especially enjoyed working with Patrick Knowles Designs, extolling the virtues of his exquisite Yacht interiors! Who knew one could create a leather floor! I also record for online sites that approach script analysis from very interesting and unexpected angles. It's always fascinating to be part of very unique approaches to a script. I love learning about many, many different subjects. I feel privileged to be a part of so much new and fascinating insight!
I studied journalism in college, and am an avid lover of the musicality and rhythm of words. I deeply respect writers, and understand there's a reason for every word on a script. I have ALWAYS been seduced by voices, and the power they hold, and it is a dream to learn to use my own to it's full potential. When people are artistically compelled to listen, they learn.I love to share that experience!
My voiceover coaching team has been vast, as I have studied the artistry for several years, both the performance and business sides, and am lucky to have met many luminaries who teach and work in the industry in New York. I am a perpetual student, and will always make continued study a part of this life.I can't get enough, and there are new things to learn every day.
My freelance life in modelling, both print and commercials, taught me everything I need to know about auditions, agents, professionalism, and MAINTAINING all the tools of the craft. I know how to run my own business, and I am the ultimate professional.
Thanks to the guidance of some of my favorite New York based engineers, I now have the capacity to record auditions (using Adobe Audition), and export files from home. Being a constant student of the technology, I truly admire and revere the expertise of the engineers, and the magic that they create. I always want them on my team!
Happily, New York's extraordinary engineers, and amazing studios, are always just a few steps away from me in the city.
My very first experience with Voiceover came with one of my first commercial jobs with Clairol years ago, when I moved to New York to model. We were shooting on green screen and having a multitude of technical problems. It got so late, they came to me around 4am, and essentially begged me to hop in the booth and record the copy! I had no idea what I was doing, but was THRILLED at the prospect of such a job.
I am VERY visual, which aligns itself perfectly alongside the story-telling of every script. It sharpens my observation of each and every detail of the project.. the product itself, the audience, and the tone of the script, and add every nuance of the entire story.
Ever since the Clairol experience, I have used my vast experience in fashion, beauty, fitness, and now aging (hopefully gracefully!) to support my product knowledge and think about my audience.A TRUE connection is key.
I have harbored the desire and passion all these years, in many forms, and am now ready to make it happen with ALL the pieces in place.Full circle.
