In my previous life I was a:
Telephonist. As a Telephonist I had voice training. I spoke to people on the phone every day & had to speak clearly & correctly. Also my voice was used on the company answer phones & tannoy systems.
Telephone Salesperson, In this position, again, I was required to speak precisely, clearly & persuasively.
Sales Represenative, this role saw me giving presentations to clients, speaking clearly, confidently whilst holding clients' attention.
I have no formal training for voice-overs whatsoever, but I have had training in talking to people & giving presentations to an audience.
Assertiveness training & Negotiation Skills training also assist in the process of dealling with/speaking to clients.
I have a wealth of experience using my voice as a professional tool.
All my working life I have been trained in the art of talking to people, holding their attention, keeping them interested in the subject matter, making them feel they are the most important person, whether that be on the phone, face to face, or via a machine.
This is a new field for me and I think my past experiences in communicating with people will help to open the door to new opportunities for me in this area.
