I have had the pleasure of rekindling a love with voice over this past summer of 2013. It was suggested that I should be doing voice overs, by a man who asked me for directions while on my way to work in New York City. He said he does voice over casting for Disney and after I couldn't shake the suggestion, I found a class and jumped in!
I was first introduced to voice overs through a documentary. In 2004 a tsunami devastated Sri Lanka and a church group from Southern California (where I had the pleasure of growing up), went to aid in anyway they could and Priscilla Murray of Murray Productions, began collecting footage later editing it together into a beautifully informative and moving documentary called "Wall of Water". I was honored to accept her offer of doing the narration for her film. Even though it was quite a few years ago - I can recall the details of recording specifically. It didn't occur to me then, but I felt at "home" in the booth and I realized that feeling my first voice over class this past summer.
I have been studying theater since 2001 and have taken many, many, many, theater, film, television, and commercial classes. The most recent is an Improv commercial class with Berry Shapiro. Voice over specific classes with Andy Roth.
I am in the second level of study with Atlantic Theater Company.
For a more detailed performance history and training, please don't hesitate to ask.
I have the ability to record at home with a meteor mic with Audacity, I can also send recordings from my phone.
I have studied psychology. I am currently a Mixologist (a fancy bartender). Studying Theater, I am a natural story teller. I am a big kid and cant help it but do find myself watching cartoons and am familiar with the character-y and not so character-y characters that animation calls for.
