Most recently produced VO for a character in the videogame Tron. Started out in live theater as both actor and tech, went to school to get a degree in audio, worked on many freelance/indie games as the complete audio solution (sfx, music, VO). Produced VO for countless student games during my 3 years at Full Sail University.
I have an associates degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail University. Subsequently was hired by the school to work on student games, producing all audio (including VO) for their games. Currently employed by n-Space producing audio for commercial games.
SM-7, SM57, Sennheiser MKH-416 P48, into either DBX 286 A, Edirol FA-101, or E-MU XTC Class-A converters. These will be tracked into Sonar, bounced out to Sound Forge and mastered to final there. Having a wealth of audio engineer friends means I also have access to a lot of other equipment that may become necessary from time to time.
Working in the games industry is great. I've done temp VO for entire games by myself before we get the final talent and it's a fantastic chance to create characters, come up with guidelines and generally envision the whole process before production starts. I've had some sales jobs too, those certainly get you talking, listening, relating and relaying.
