I was accepted into the Mayor's Mentorship Pilot Program under the direction of the 1st District-at- Large City Councilman City Aide. While working as a Customer Service Rep. in our 311 Action Center Dept. which is the core of the City of KC for all crisis and escalated complaints/concerns. I was presented with an opportunity from the councilman to apply for as a Mentee. I've been active in our Urban Core which was noted and my ranking amongst my peers for quality Customer Care in my dept. for exhibiting professionalism as well as receiving commendations from satisfied citizens and internal employees/management. While in the Mayor's Mentorship Program, I gained enhanced skills and experience in Leadership, Public Speaking, Networking and Community Involvement.
My experience and training while working in the 311 Action Center, I am trained to follow several scripts which entailed pertinent information for all City depts. These are a few of the daily depts: Municipal Courts, Neighborhood and Preservation, Mayor's Office, KC Police Department Dispatch, etc.) to remain in compliance with local government policy/administration. Importantly, we were able to add our personal flare to connect with the citizen as long as we remained professional and reached our goal to assist the public in a timely manner. I "wore many different hats" and the challenge was daily!! I consistently ranked in the top 3 monthly with my peers for quality of work, handling calls and commitment.
While employed with a Fortune 500 Corporation, I utilized various scripts for VIP business travelers domestic and international. The importance was to familiarize yourself with their profile; from meetings, conferences and specific preferences. I developed the ability to personalize the script. I went above and beyond to meet their special request or demands. It is a pleasure to be in the public relation field and welcome the challenges. As I move forward with Voice 123, I look forward to opportunities, which I will exhibit professionalism, a natural appeal and an exemplary character.
