“I just love listening to your voice—it's really soothing and makes me feel good,” “I just found a tape of some of your work and after listening to it I had a smile on my face,” “I had to call and talk to you today, just to hear your voice. When I listen to you, I know that everything is going to be okay.”
I have always been blessed with having a voice that people enjoy listening to. I have hosted my own radio show for 10 years on many stations throughout the country, and because of that I have done a myriad of VOs.
K101, San Francisco, California—VOs to promo our program “For Lovers Only”
KNRY, Monterey, California—hundreds of commercial, PSA, and program related VOs for“Insight and Inspiration” and “Love Talk with Tana Marie” radio programs
Leadership Monterey Peninsula Community Service Project—eight environmental PSA's, copywritten and performed by me, to be aired on every major radio and television station on the Monterey Peninsula, CA.
Most of my training came from my being on the air for over 20 years, both as the host of my own program and reoccurring guest on hundreds of stations across the US and Canada.
I have taken Learning Annex classes about how to do voiceovers and about the voiceover industry.
I sang for over 10 years in choirs and madrigal groups, played the clarinet and piano, and as a high auditory have always been very tuned in to voices, dialects, and sound in general.
I am an author, feature writer for two magazines, was the newspaper editor in college, seminar developer and presenter, and of course, radio personality.
Most of the voiceover work I have been currently doing is done on my iMac using GarageBand. I can cut the voice track, drop in a music bed or sound effects, and save it as an MP3, AIFF or other formats, e-mail finished work or put it on a CD for mailing.
I have easy access to my old radio station that I used to broadcast out of, our local AMP station, and to a dear friend’s fully equipped home studio.
Voices, communication technologies and meeting people where they are has always been a great love of mine.
Hosting talk radio, and being a counselor for almost 30 years allows me to understand how important tonality, pace, inflection, and sincerity is in delivering any verbal message.
I present seminars and workshops on a myriad of topics, and I pride myself that my message gets through because of the way that I deliver the information. People hear things in very different ways, and if you know your target market and the way the language affects them, meet them at their level and you will always get your message through.
It's also been a pleasure for me to work with the Girl Scouts “Lead the Way” program for almost 20 years. Presenting information to 14-year-olds takes very specific verbal skills in order for your vote not to be canceled! I return year after year because I enjoy working with the girls and they seem to enjoy the messages I send.
I know I have the understanding, compassion, and talent to work with just about any kind of group, market, or project to the absolute satisfaction of all concerned.
