With a background primarily in theatre, film and television, voice over work is new to me. However, I used to work in a bowling alley and often did announcements over the PA system. "Thompson - party of four - your lane is ready." I was often told my voice was as soothing as a strike in the 10th frame.
As far as other non-voice related work, I've been working in the oil patch in Calgary for over 5 years now and as a result, my vocabulary of 4 letter words is extensive.
My acting background helps me to bring life to words and words to life.
- Introduction to Voice Over, Intermediate Voice Over and Voice Over Demo Workshops, WCS Voicespot Calgary, 2005 - 2006
- Various post-secondary acting courses including auditioning for film and television and scene study - 1998 - 2006
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from the University of Calgary, grad. 1998
- Crescent Heights High School, Calgary, grad. 1992 (Cheech or Chong went here - can't remember which)
- Colonel Irvine Jr. High, grad. 1989
- Collingwood Elementary, grad. 1986
I am constantly working to hone my performance skills and this means taking classes that may be a bit out of the ordinary to add to my list of "skills". Blacksmithing is something I recently endeavored upon so if anyone has a forge in their studio, I'll make them a coat rack while I voice their work. I am also an avid yoga enthusiast but cannot twist myself into a pretzel at present. More like a dried stick of gum.
