Most of my voice work has been for my own academic or business development material. I have produced many tapes and videos for my own teaching, mainly in the fields of Design and History of Art. I have also recorded Training material for in house product training.
As well as voiceover work, I compose and produce original music, using a sophisticated MIDI unit and conventional instruments.
I was a University Lecturer for many years as well as being involved in business as a Designer and in Marketing. I have a degree in Product Design and broad knowledge of Engineering, enabling me to relate easily to voice over jobs involving technical or academic content.
PC with Audacity, Magix, Sonar and Mixcraft. A wide range of file conversion software, noise reduction and filtering equipment. Although my equipment is very sophisticated, most of the time I use Audacity with an iMic, with a Condenser Electret mike. I find this gives the best results for most voiceovers, without using noise reduction or editing. If effects are to be used, I use a CME UF6 keyboard an sample the sound, so that it can be controlled in a naturalistic way. I also use flute and guitar, both acoustic and electric.
Play flute, guitar and keyboards. Experienced in music production, both live and studio.
