I am a newcomer to the industry. I have 2 demos which address the medical, pharmaceutical, academic, documentary and corporate communications markets. While as of yet I don't have demos for other fields, my voice range is highly adaptable for many other markets.
My training has been principally with Edge Studio's Voice Design Group. Their expertise in coaching, directing, and critiquing my work has transformed me into a skillful and professionally-minded talent. Their comprehensive approach to both the craft and the business of voice over has made me well-prepared for a successful career.
In the early '90s, I enjoyed participating in the Lighthouse reading partner program in Manhattan, assisting sight impaired clients such as professors, college students and others who needed textbooks, professional journals and general interest publications read aloud.
I spent 2 years in college radio 20-some odd years ago, and learned I had a natural aptitude for public speaking.
I have a bachelors degree from SUNY Oneonta, with a liberal arts background focused on political science and US history. I was on-air talent at WONY-Oneonta, hosting programs dedicated to rock and pop music; blues; and comedy. I also edited and delivered news reports, as well.

My entry to the field was with Laura J. Smith, a well-established talent who conducts a series of adult education voice over classes, which gave me the confidence and zeal to pursue my new career.
I have no home recording equipment suitable for serving the needs of clients, and do not forsee acquiring any in my first 12 months in the business. I will rely on the professional standards of production studios in the metropolitan New York area.
I have a learning experience ahead of me in regard to audio engineering, and will seriously consider setting up a home studio in the future.
My work experience includes trade show and direct mail marketing for publishers in the physical sciences and health sciences fields, and I am familiar with the unique terms and copy style of a variety of disciplines, from physics to psychology, and more.
The past 8 years were spent in the legal field, as a software specialist filing documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR system. I mastered 4 technically demanding software programs designed specifically for EDGAR filing, and gained a reputation as a reliable and skilled word processing professional, accustomed to detail-intensive work performed under daily deadline pressure.
My skill-set is deep on attention to detail, juggling overlapping projects, and producing excellent verbal and written communication, ably addressing client, colleague, corporate and professional and lay audiences.
