As a graduate student DJ on WNUR I have worked broadcasting live and recording my voice for various promotions related to the studio. i am new to this business but was referred by an experienced voice-over actor (Charles "Charlie" Jensen) who recommended that my voice would be suitable for this type of work.
I have a BA in Piano Performance and Composition, MM in Musicology, and PhD (in progress) in Ethnomusicology. As part of my training I have participated in various college theater productions as an actor and used my voice in different ways (30 year old housewife/12th century French woman/contemporary 40s career woman). In addition, I have taken several diction classes, am familiar with IPA and can read in several languages that I do not speak (GERMAN, ITALIAN, LATIN). I have extensive public speaking experience as a teacher and lecturer and also received two years of formal voice training as a classical singer. Control over my voice is a basic part of my musical skills that I use everyday and manipulating my voice to produce various effects is not difficult as a result. I also sing in choirs and frequently have to alter pronunciation, accent, dynamics, and timbre for any given performance.
I have access to a full broadcast radio studio (WNUR) and the associated interview studio. In addition to recording capabilities I am familiar and proficient with Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, and Audacity.
I am punctual, professional, and dedicated to all of my work. While I have extensive knowledge of certain fields: literature, history, Russian studies, music, international affairs, and political science, I am a flexible and quick learner who adapts my current knowledge to fit any situation.
