Rachel Marisay is a versatile, gifted performer whose career spans radio, television, film and niche market DVD releases. Since starting her media career in Austin in 1993 after graduating from Purdue University, Rachel Marisay has evolved into a well-respected and much sought after personality.
Best known for her radio persona, Rachel starting out as a night time personality for KNNC and is now an integral part of the Syracuse radio market. She has exceeded in many different formats from Alternative to Country, from Adult Contemporary to Oldies, Rachel has been heard in many different markets from California to Virginia and is a proven ratings winner.
But Rachel’s stellar talent and sharp wit as an on-air personality has taken her from behind the microphone to in front of the television camera and beyond.
Rachel’s spirited personality and solid work ethic caught the attention of local television stations as well as national cable networks. Rachel has produced and hosted a litany of exciting television vignettes and shows featuring Texas musicians as well as being an entertainment reporter for a local CBS affiliate. MTV Sports came to Rachel with a daunting but intriguing challenge: to spearhead the first MTV Sports and Music Festival in Austin. Loving a challenge, Rachel organized and executed a tremendously successful show for the music channel; finding bands, scheduling interviews, and coordinating efforts between MTV and local sponsors.
Acting comes naturally for Rachel and in 2000 she got to fulfill a lifetime goal of being cast in the independent film “Butcher’s 15” which received rave reviews and critical acclaim at the prestigious SXSW film festival in Austin. And in a Hollywood moment, Rachel was discovered by fitness and lifestyle guru Grace Lazenby standing in line at a local coffee shop. Grace saw the potential for Rachel as a spokesperson for her new DVD “All the Right Moves” and asked Rachel to use her telegenic personality and warm delivery to assist in the project. Since Rachel has studied under famous acting coach Marco Perella – Rachel held her own on the LA set with 80’s Pop star Tiffany and Soap Operamaven Barbara Niven.
