As a child , I started working ,age 9 as ,basiclly a schill. I would play the piano,or the organ in the store window for the Wurlitzer Piano&Organ Co. This was in 1965.$5.00 a day! I payed at every grocery store that opened up in the Chicago area, every parade, every state fair,I worked at every shopping mall around. I traveled out East in 1970 and worked the summer on the East Coast.I was playing in a band on Rush Street in Chicago by the time I graduated High School in 1974. Over the years ,I have been all over this country and up to Canada, down to Mexico and even did some work in France,in the French Riviera.
The majority of my recording experience has been primarily music performance.I do understand the workings of the recording studio. When I started it was all analog ,of course. But in the past decade the digital world has grown in leaps and bounds,if you will. Thank God for things like "Pro Tools".
After High School I went on the road for almost ten years . That is too long. I don't recomend it tto anyone. Especially if you are working in a "top 40" band . I do have to say, I received an education that is priceless. The "learn while you earn" or "school of hard knocks" was not acredited ,there is no deploma. But I have had so many great learning experiences. I believe I could be very effective as a consultant to young musicians trying to improve the quality of their musical careers. Been there, done more than many have of that. And at the age of 53,(as of May 11th) I feel I have a whole lot more to do. I adapt very quickly to a variety of situations.
I have ,of course my keyboard gear and have access to whatever is needed in that area. I also have acess both in Phoenix and Chicago, to a range of different studios as I am a well respected member of the music and entertainment communities of both places. I also have some strong connections in L.A.
I have co-produced on a few projects as well.No Grammy yet,but...
I am very good with "people skills". I also can do well with sales. As long as I have good product knowlege. After all , my business is all about selling yourself over and over again. I am also very good at networking people that can be mutually beneficial .Over the years ,one has a tendency to collect a really great phone book full of artistic, creative people. I love getting them to put their heads together and blend their talents.
