My name is Patrick Gamble of Lake Park, FL. My voiceover work has been primarily featured on radio but to include some television and minor television appearance.
My foundation began in '98 with Adult Contemporary radio station WQSM/Q98, following eight years of active duty service in the USAF in Fayetteville, NC. Announcing had been a long time interest and I was fortunate to land a position as a then walk-in applicant with no formal training. Within less than a few months I achieved a full-time announcing slot and assistant production duties.
This stint lasted all of about a year, however, as I was slated to follow on for a 6 year bid with the NC Air National Guard located nearly 3 hours away in Charlotte. The commute made it impossible to sustain the two concurrently and since Uncle Sam had me contracted... he won.
Due to said commitment and the consuming nature of it, it would be an honorable discharge in '04, a move to Florida in '05 and nearly 2 more years later before I had an opportunity to reconvene pursuit of this passion.
Concerned that no one might have an interest in nearly decade old airchecks I decided to attend Connecticut School of Broadcasting in N. Palm Beach, FL in '06.
I was hand-picked and hired on the spot after graduation by instructor and then Program Dir./Operations Mgr., Mark McCray, of CBS Radio West Palm Beach, FL. Additionally, I was able to land a studio technician/cameraman slot with local CBS television affiliate, WPEC. That experience yielded an in-house promotion to Master Control Operator. Yet again, I found myself in an untenable circumstance to suffer two very demanding careers as my newly found radio opportunity was taking off, also. I had to choose… television would have to be a wrap.
In the interest of better balancing career and family, however, I resigned after 6 years in January of 2012 from part-time radio announcing and assistant production direction with CBS Radio's Urban Contemporary WNEW (now WHFS) B106.3 in West Palm Beach, FL. Hours had become scarce with cutbacks and I was doing this conjunctively with full-time hotel supervision which put a stranglehold on “quality time”.
During that tenure, ironically enough, I voiced a television commercial running in my native Los Angeles area for a gastric bybass surgery clinic named Surgilite.
Suffice it to say I'm eager to get back into stride and offer my services where needed / wanted with a specific focus on voiceover work. I would appreciate an additional minute and 14 seconds of your time, following this read, to audition my voiceover demo.
