As I am fresh out of graduate school, I've only done a few V/O projects. I've done mostly freelance work via Reddit, some jobs have been paid. I recently did the voice of Zeus for someone's high school play, and provided informational narration for a PhD project presentation. I have been working on recording an audiobook- Stephen King's "The Wind Through the Keyhole" for my own pleasure. Though my voice-over career is just beginning, I have had extensive experience as a professional stage actor, focused mostly on Shakespeare. I have worked at the Montana, Illinois, and New Jersey Shakespeare festivals, and have performed in over fifty plays and musicals in the last eleven years.
I just finished my Master's Degree in Theatre at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Three years prior I was awarded my BFA in Theatre from the University of Rhode Island. At UIUC I took part in a semester-long workshop led by Robert Ramirez, who worked with my classmates and I in various voice-over types and techniques, such as commercial copy, character voices, audiobooks, and more. We set up a small studio and recorded and critiqued our own demos and reels. My knowledge of recording comes through a decade of experience playing with bands and recording both at home and in the studio.
I have a Shure SM7B microphone, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, and a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones. I go mic-preamp-PC- it's a great setup for narration, singing, or recording single instruments.
I am an accomplished musician- proficient at guitar, piano, mandolin, bass guitar, and singing. I can read most music, have an excellent ear, and good musical improvisation skills. I also write and compose music. I also play violin, banjo, drums, clarinet, recorder, pennywhistle, and more.
