I have done IVRs, e-training, promo for a bio tech company, descriptors for a water purification system and radio commercials. I have 25 years of public speaking experience in churches, community venues and public schools. I believe the voice is what draws people in before they even internalize the words that are being said. My voice is warm, friendly, trustworthy, calm yet exudes passion for what I am speaking about.
I initially trained with Dru Scott and Scott Higby, who by the way produced my demo. I continue to hone my skills with Beverly Bremers who says this about me: Nancy is the ultimate professional in every way. She's punctual, thorough, conscientious, creative, follow directions well, a self-starter, and a delightful person to work with. I highly recommend her!. Deborah Reeves, another engineer I work with says this: "Nancy is a fantastic voice over artist. Her warm, friendly voice brings life to every project she works on. And she's experienced with recording, editing, and producing her own work, which is a huge plus. Nancy is reliable, dependable, and an absolute pleasure to work with. I couldn't recommend her more."
I have a RHODE microphone with a TASCAM interface and I use Audacity for editing. If I need more than my home studio, I have access to Studio C with engineers Deborah Reeves and Scott Higby, both of whom I have worked with.
I was a high school counselor for 21+ years. If you can get and keep an adolescent's attention, you've got something going for you. I still have former students keep in touch with me as they know I am someone who cares and whom they trust. I am currently a part time regional representative for Albion College helping to recruit students from Southern California to this liberal arts college in Michigan. I also volunteer for Learning Ally recording books for children with learning disabilities.
