I am a native speaker of French and a 51 years old teacher/tutor of French & Spanish as well as a mother. I run my own business as a Tutor and have currently around 20 clients, teaching from 9 years old child to adults for French Business, as well as Spanish for beginners.
I am able to teach French up to A level as well as Business French and Adult conversation and Spanish up to GCSE level.
For younger children I use games, role-plays and songs.
I am also able to offer first hand awareness of French culture and civilisation as well as a correct accent to develop pupils’ linguistic competence. My maturity and parental approach help me to relate more easily to children and to what their parents expect, in a studious but relaxed atmosphere.
I believe that high expectation, humour and enthusiasm are essential to the development of a cooperative and successful learning environment. My maturity and parental approach help me to relate more easily to children and to what their parents expect.
I have been giving private tuition of French and Spanish for the last 15 years. As such, I did ensure that each student studied at their own level and pace and I regularly checked their progress. I also adapted my lessons if necessary, to target their weakness in order to make them catch up with their peers. Last year, I tutored an eleven years old pupil who was dyslexic and who couldn’t read easily so we focused on role-plays, repetition and games, and she made considerable progress throughout the year.
During my professional experience I have gained advanced skills as regards classroom management, use of ICT in the classroom including the use of the Interactive White Board, assessment, target setting, reporting and recording. I have also supported pupils across the ability range from pupils with additional needs to very able pupils.
