I started my voiceover work years ago by calling an ad in the paper wanting a female adult to handle "phones". Little did I know it was a 900 line wanting to hire someone to do their IVR tracks. I interviewed over the phone and was hired immediately. I did 3 spots every other week two 30 second spots and one 60 seconds and the money was nice. The very first time I went in to record which literally took 10 mins the guy at first sat in the room with me...but after the second track he said "I'm sorry and I hope you don't get offended by you're turning me on and that is embarrassing!" After about 6 months I left the company because they kept hounding me to become their featured "phone operator" which I didn't care to do. Speaking that way for 2 minutes every two weeks was plenty. I didn't need the experience of a daily gig for hours on end...not what I do/nor do I want to.
I have also done radio back in the early 2000's I hosted a show called "Love Songs in the Evening" I answered calls from people wanting to
So, here it is...THE TRUTH. Just like when I was a child and youth growing up performing/singing on stage in school and for SALOC (Southern AZ Light Opera Company) or church, etc...people always ask where I've trained and I can tell you other than Music classes in school and church I am a natural...God given gift of a great voice.
Sorry I can't put something more outstanding on here that that...but I'm telling the truth...the real deal here!
The only equipment I've ever used is Audio Vault when I was in radio, other than that I haven't. I am just now trying to get back into this again and will be looking into my options if this takes off for me again.
