I am new to this field, except for some volunteer audio book reading work.
I do have a professional demo.
BA, University of Louisville, 1985.
Southern Police Institute, Administrative Officers Course, 2000.
I "found" my voice during a 21 year career as a police officer, 12 of which were as a commanding officer. I have been a certified police instructor since 1993. I spent three years as the basic training sergeant for my department. Police officers (the smart ones anyway) learn to use effective voice communication early. Control of a situation can be established- or lost-very quickly depending on the proper tone, cadence, and volume of your speech. As a commanding officer, how your recruits, your officers, or people at a scent respond to you is more about the voice, not the rank.
