I sensed a need for voiceovers in English while starting my own kinder here in Monterrey, Mexico. That was in 1991. Steadily I began getting more and more calls from many studios around town, especially for institutional videos and lately, DVDs.
Over the past 16 years, I have recorded literally hundreds of voice-overs for many US and Mexican companies. Some describe manufacturing processes, guidelines for plant tours, call waiting, passenger instructions for airlines, city tours, among others. I have also done commercials for radio spots used in McAllen and San Antonio, Texas.
I enjoy a decent reputation as being one of the better English voice-overs in this area.
My training began at an early age, when, as a young boy, I started to imitate voices of cartoon characters on TV like Dudley Doorite, Bullwinkle and Quick-Draw MacGraw.
After earning a degree in Elementary Education in Minnesota, I took a job at a school in Mexico, where I put my voice to work everyday. To spark up the classes, I would interject different voices, especially those of Sesame Street characters like Elmo, Big Bird, Grover, Oscar, and Cookie Monster. (One of my greatest joys is to have kids rolling on the floor in laughter.)
Later, upon starting my own kinder, I have continued to hone my skills and expand to other types of voices as well.
I feel the skills gained as a youngster and improved upon as an "oldster" with my work in education and 16 plus years doing voice-overs provides me with a solid background for many types of jobs.
