My first VO was when my family got an answering machines in about 1981 or so. I had figured out how to mimic Ronald Reagan and in my small town that was a big deal. For the past several years my VO experience has been on internal corporate video for AT&T. Interestingly, to me at least, my partner had taken a trip to New York and walked into an AT&T retail store and heard my voice. It seems the sales reps we watching a product training video that I had voiced. My partner said when he told them he knew the person behind that voice, the reps were very excited to know someone who knew the guy that voiced the video. My partner let them know it was not THAT big of a deal! And since he didn’t get a discount, I guess it wasn’t! I have also been the Voice of God for various AT&T corporate events where I introduced senior executives as well as in room announcements like, "Restrooms are on your left as you exit the auditorium."
