I began in Paris, dubbing for the movie Absolutely Fabulous..recording some voice overs as i zoomed around the studio pretending to be on roller skates. I loved it.
When I moved to London, I got involved in audio description; describing a television show or movie for the blind. I have worked for over 13 years as a freelance describer and described programs such as Dora The Explorer, Scooby Doo, CSI Vegas and Charmed which have all been broadcast. I have also described films, Happy Feet, Factory Girl, Baby Mama, which have been theatrically released. Audio Description requires a warm, melodic voice which is adaptable to best suit the program. For example, the voice over for a kids show would vary hugely from the voice over for a narration or murder drama. An ability to be flexible and sensitive, in order to suit the tone of the project is paramount. As a stand up comedian who is very physical (mime/acrobatics), I love the thrill of changing your voice by changing your physicality and would LOVE to work in video games, or cartoons..as well as continuing to work within the realm of narration.
I narrate audio books and was recently awarded the audio file earphones award for my narration of The Reluctant Highlander, by Amanda Scott.

Masters degree from Jacques Le Coq, school of physical theater in Paris. (voice, movement, acrobatics, mime, clown, mask work)
Fully qualified power yoga teacher. I teach classes and privately in Los Angeles.
Several years of dance in Pineapple Studios, London

Jean Sangster-3year singing course
Penny Dyer-accent coach, worked on my American accent.
A whole host of dialect coaches when I acted professionally on stage and in film. Have performed with French, English, Scottish and American accents.
I have taught workshops in voice and movement in Scotland, London and Los Angeles.
I have my own home studio. I use a Rode NT-USB Condenser mic and edit on twisted wave. I can deliver mp3 or wave files. In most cases, I can record and deliver in less than 12 hours.
Having had years of experience in narration, I am equally at home delivering a warm, melodic, neutral voice. Audio description requires that the voice over artist modify the speed, volume and delivery depending on the scene, so have had a wide experience in a huge variety of material. I've worked on children's cartoons, documentaries, dramas and comedies for television and theatrical release.
Having lived in France, the UK and the USA as well as having traveled extensively throughout Central and South America and Europe, I feel I have a thorough education in different cultures. This can only enhance my ability to adapt to a variety of projects.
I am a yoga teacher and also teach movement and voice, so rely heavily on my vocal ability to work. Therefore, I am very aware of the importance of taking care of myself vocally and strive to keep myself in tip top shape, so my range remains accessible and flexible.
I have also worked as a freelance tour director throughout Europe and so have experience communicating under a wide variety of circumstances; relaying French history in front of a palace, while competing vocally against Parisian drivers and talking extensively about French culture while cruising through the countryside.
