I began my voice recording career in 1995 at Classic Vacations doing their phone trees, IVR systems, and some Music on Hold Ads. When Expedia bought the company as their luxury travel branch, I was asked to take over Expedia's voice talent position at corporate. As IAG continued to add to their Travel Company portfolio. Hotwire, Hotels website, and Cheap Tickets became clients as well. They told me that my voice was better than the high-priced agency voices they had been using and my turnaround time was amazing (usually 24 hours). I have done over 2400 jobs a year with these companies since 2001. These include American Express Travel, Alaska Airlines, Hyatt Vacations, and cruise lines that contract with Expedia.
My voice is the exclusive voice on Egencia, Expedia's business travel company. I have recorded the welcoming greetings for the corporate travel desks of most NFL football teams, many Fortune 500 companies and Universities, as well as The White House travel desk. That is THE White House.
This excludes me from being able to accept any travel corporation related recordings but this is my only exclusion. I look forward to branching out into radio ads, children's recordings, and other venues to spice up my repertoire. I especially want to record books on tape, as I am an avid reader and a Literature Tutor.
My college degree is in Human Services, specifically in Health Education, with a minor in French. I am fluent in Medical Terminology and can speak French well. I taught kindergarten for seven years and can do children's stories with the voices. My voice coaching and four years college choir experience gives me great projection and breathing skills. I have a certificate in communications from North Idaho College which I earned in 2009 in my continuing education.
I tutor High School students in English and Literature.
I am a certified Mental Health Specialist, a Certified Nursing Assistant, and a Developmental Therapist.
I use my trusty Apple Macbook for my office computer and, as a result, can take my office anywhere with me. I use a plantronics headset with a voice amplifier that is also portable. I receive my assignments daily by E-mail, record the script, and return a WAV file by E-mail, sometimes within minutes. My system is low tech, admittedly, but has served me and my clients well for fifteen years. I am efficient and productive with an excellent work ethic. I will redo the recordings, if necessary, until you are 100% satisfied.
I am very good with languages and can act well. I have traveled in Europe extensively and my husband and I have just finished our training to volunteer for medical missions. I am learning Italian at present and will travel to Italy again (fifth time) in 2011. I have five children and four grandchildren and have been described as loving and nurturing- even by patients and total strangers. I think that this motherly element comes across in my voice. I am a young grandmother at forty-eight and have never met a baby I didn't love.
I teach free classes locally for Celiac Awareness and teach the gluten and casein free diet to parents who have children with diet issues or Autism. I teach cooking classes in the home for parents as well.
