Recorded bumper tags in a "radio voice" for the Matt Cockburn Show (Podcast) and hosted the show in my regular voice. Performed voiceovers on paid jobs such as the sizzle reel for "American Museum", the "Durawallet" 120 second spot, "MagicVac" 120 second spot. I also produced and narrated a short documentary.
I have a natural talent for voices and have done them since I was a child. I learned by imitating people around me and characters in movies/tv shows as I got older. I started performing them on record for fun at first until people started encouraging me to try my hand at it professionally. Two of the three professional jobs I did voiceovers for have aired on national TV. Through my work with the podcast, I learned to edit sound.
Applied Research and Technology Tube MP Studio - - Preamplifier, Direct Box, Behringer C1 Studio Condenser Microphone. I record on a PC using either Audacity, Reaper or Adobe Sound Booth. I prefer to use Audacity as I find it is simplest to use and provides all the controls usually needed in recording and editing.
The commercials that I have performed voiceover work for were also commercials that I wrote or co-wrote, produced and directed as well as had a hand in editing. So, I understand the process of a total production. I also understand the importance of the voiceover coming out right. Therefore, I will work with the client until they are satisfied with my performance...even if I am not.
