I'm always being told I have a "radio voice", and from the time I was 13 I was told I sounded just like a teacher when I gave a presentation. When I worked the drive through at McDonald's, I was constantly asked if we had just fixed the speaker, because I was the first person they could understand.
I've done a few commercial reads, but most of my work has come from cartoon voice-overs with FUNimation Entertainment, located in Ft. Worth, Texas. This includes titles such as DragonBallZ, Case Closed, and Fullmetal Alchemist (seen on Cartoon Network), as well as Grappler Baki, Gunslinger Girl, Samurai 7, and Galaxy Railways. Through this experience, I've played guards & thugs, lovers & fighters, henchmen & bosses.
I have a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of North Texas, where I specialized in acting. I had further performance training in two six-week sessions with the Moscow Art Theatre, which teaches method-based acting based on the techniques of Konstantin Stanislavsky and Michael Chekhov.
For specific voice-over training, I have taken two five-week classes through a local organization called S.T.A.G.E., in which I was taught various techniques and styles for both commercial and industrial work.
Since May of 1998, I have been a waiter at a Nostalgia-themed restaurant called Magic Time Machine, located in Addison, TX. While I work, I dress as a superhero, and spend lots of time entertaining and telling improvised jokes with dozens of people daily. This gives me a natural personality of openness and confidence, as well as a complete lack of fear when it comes to exploring a voice that some people may find embarrassing to attempt.
