Experience:
As a foreign language teacher, I was surrounded by kids and learned to be goofy. I have an 11 year old who loves to play "bunny" with me: Bunny is a character we created, whereby I'm a feisty, not too bright, somewhat speech impaired kid from Brooklyn and she's my mom. So when she asks Bunny how school was today, Bunny might say:
"Ah, it was sooht ah awight, mom, but da teachah, she hit me again!"
My daughter, acting as the mom, would say: "Oh, my Bunny, what did you do to dererve that?!"
Bunny: Wehw (she doesn't pronounce her LL's correctly), she might ah been mad cuz I trew my book at huh (Staten Island speak for "her")
My daughter: Bunny! That was terrible thing to do..you're going to be punished as soon as we get home.
Bunny: But I didn't mean to mom, she yehwed at me and I got upset so it fwew out a my hand..."
Etc.
